Introduction

PHI-4-GGUF is a community-driven model for text generation, developed by Microsoft and highlighted by LM Studio. It supports multiple applications, including natural language processing (NLP), mathematics, coding, and conversational AI.

Architecture

The model has been quantized with GGUF by Bartowski, based on llama.cpp. It supports a context length of up to 16,000 tokens.

Training

PHI-4-GGUF was trained on a vast dataset of 9.8 trillion tokens. The training data comprises synthetic materials, filtered public domain websites, academic literature, and Q&A datasets.

Guide: Running Locally

  1. Clone the repository: Download the model files from Hugging Face.
  2. Install dependencies: Ensure all necessary libraries for text generation are installed.
  3. Run the model: Use a Python script to load and interact with the model.
  4. Hardware suggestion: To optimize performance, consider utilizing cloud GPU services like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
